You know we don’t just bump dubstep nonstop, we gotta taste from the whole musical pie. Right now, and actually for the past while, we’ve been really feeling Kid606 and his Tigerbass posse. Without getting too into specifics, lets just say Osiris has been dropping Mr Wobble’s Nightmare all over the place, and its always (always) goes off – no matter what the crowd. So, uh, go find that tune, and then catch up on Kid606 – dude makes some scratchy, dirty, techno, punk, i dunno, the words don’t do justice to this rave friendly, radio unacceptable stuff – we think its the shit!
Well, along comes this “Disciples of Dread”EP (on Shockout! Records) featuring tunes from Kid606, Cardopusher, and relative newcomer Badxman – and man, you gonna dig this. Dude has a tighter, more pulled together sound, very rhythmic – almost minimal to a degree. Thing is though its Tigerbeat, so for every part mainstraim, there’s an equal part of revolt. If you like more techno-dub dubstep, you’ll probably love this guy, even though there’s isn’t much techno-dub dubstep in anything he does. Feast:
