Mart – darth vader

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

Some dude we never heard of before named Mart just posted up a pretty heavy dubstep banger in the dutch dubstep producers sound cloud. Like I said, I don’t know who this cat is, but with a hyves account called: jeanpierreledouche.hyves.nl, he’s gotta be cool. There are numerous decent tunes on his page, but the standouts are the top two dubstep tunes. The first is “darth vader”, which ganks the Star Wars imperial march melody, and puts it up against some slamming, moshpit style wobbler bass line. And some are gonna hate on that style, but to each his own, and this shit bangs, so take it or leave it. The other tune “hide in the woods”, sounds like some Middle Earth style dubstep. Digital never sounded so medieval to me, until this tune came along. Dubstep knights, if any exist, will surely be coming back from wars to this tune. Anyways, here are the tunes, so dig in:

Inofaith – fix yourself (live video)

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Inofaith is always experimenting around with trying to create new sounds and do something unique – something which we always applaud, especially when done well! So here is, in his own words, “A new song I built. Developing further onto making custom effects in ableton. The effects inspired by the use of the Kaoss Pad 3.”

new Black Sun Empire dubstep release

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

So if you don’t know Black Sun Empire, then you obviously don’t know anything about Dutch drum n bass. Well, forget what you don’t know, these 3 dudes from Utrecht also produce Dubstep with a rather rough edge. Having set up their own label for their dubstep releases, Shadows of the Empire, they are up to their 3rd release and going strong. The lastest release, SOTE003, has the tunes “The 405″ and “Dirty Friday” (you can hear clippets at the bottom of their myspace player).  Both tunes definitly have more of their DnB aggression in them, and not that much swing – and theres nothing wrong with that.  If you want to space out, get something else, these tunes will have people letting out their anger on the dance floor. If nothing else, expect some angry bass faces. These tunes will be released soon, so keep an eye out for ‘em.

Mosh! went off!

The mosh pit at Dubstep parties has been the subject of debate for the past while, but the poll on dubstep.nl points to most people not really minding it as long as it doesn’t get their beer spilled. With that seal of approval, Paradiso brought in Skream & Benga for a B2B session under the name Mosh! Appropriate name, considering the mayhem that has erupted the last couple times those guys showed up at the big Oi! parties. This one was no different, except that this time the stage was secure and Benga’s dubplates weren’t scratched up. And yes, people moshed & stagedove their hearts out. Our pal Piro opened things up, and the dynamic duo of Gomes & Brutuzz finished things off with their own style of mosh pit music. Shoulda been there!

Here they are dropping “Clap your hands” – 2 different views:

And here is Brutuzz b2b Gomes:

Thanks to Brutuzz & Thomas Grievink for posting those onto youtube – there’s more video out there if you look.

Something more clubby : Subsource (free tune)

Friday, November 6th, 2009

subsourcepressshot1Yo, after the effect Presk’s more uptempo set had at the last Radical party (more on that in a day or so) – and the reaction he recieved – we thought we’d put up a little free tune of something a bit different from the usual dubstep we post. We’ve been jamming a bit of more housey mix up stuff lately, and something cool we got in was this tune from Subsource : Tales from the Doombox (Raffertie Remix) – listen here:

Subsource happen to be on the same label as dutch duo The Mighty Fools who are currently in the midst of blowing the fuck up. Subsource have more d’n'b sound to them, and we like that too. Check out there latest video, which is a hardrock/dnb kinda mash up with some wobble in the breakdowns. Personally diggin this tune, check it out:
