Kokeshi podcast #5

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

Another podcast from the Kokeshi label, with some more smooth, deep dubstep/dnb type stuff.

This podkast is inspired by cinema / films / soundtracks.. I was hunting around for some samples for some of my tunes, and I came across this amazing Mashed in Plastic compilation /mashup with david lynch film and tv scores, dialogue from the films, and music. It’s amazing..I borrowed the intro which is in the podkast. Also having listened to ASC’s forthcoming album, Irrelevants tunes, and using many film samples for my own music..it really makes me think about how important music is to film and tv and vice versa. What makes me cry when I watch a scene in a film?….its not just the action but its also the film score. So this is my little tribute to all the music that brings what we watch come to life. And all the film quotes and music that inspire modern bass music. So for today this is the soundtrack to my life. I hope you like it. — AC

Ad Noiseam mix for Electronic Explorations

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

Nicolas over at Ad Noiseam was recently asked to provide a mix for the much lauded Electronic Explorations podcast series run by Rob Booth. He had this to say about it : “I tried to present something varied and interesting, which would feature Ad Noiseam artists as well as other people I listen to. There’s some jazz in this, some doom-metal, a lot of bass and a lot of breaks, and I hope that it all mixes together well.”

Dope flyers

Friday, May 28th, 2010

I’ve said it before, and i’ll say it again : Dutch flyers are way better looking than flyers from most any other country. I’m speaking mainly about dubstep here, but it probably could cover other genres such as Hardcore, House, DnB, etc. I have my theories on why this may be, but i’m not trying to prove i’m right, just accept that I am (or might be) and enjoy the cool designs popping up on flyers and lp sleeves.
