Brrrap! Magazine issue #7 is out now! This time around we interview Akkachar (Rwina Records), Micky (Naked Lunch), and Kjell van Ginkel (MESMO Clothing & Products). The issue also features a centerfold artpiece from Jelmer Noordeman, loads of reviews (Dutch releases and international ones), and plenty more stuff too. If you didn’t make it to the Brrrap! party last Saturday to pick up a hardcopy, just come to the next Brrrap! party on the 17th @ Bitterzoet and pick one up. The print version is also available at Triple Vision in Rotterdam and other dubstep record shops around Holland (from next week onwards). Also, you can pick it up at stores in Amsterdam, including, Distortion Records, Patta, Rush Hour, Barrio, Hana Zuki, and Henxs.
Last week, Subbalicious kicked off their Brass Knuckles parties at Panama. The basic idea was to have several hours of non-stop tooth-grinding dubstep – and it worked! People went nuts! Vanaf donderdag 21 januari zal er iedere maand een editie zijn van BRASS KNUCKLES waarbij er vooral gericht wordt op de hardere en dansvloer gerichte dubstep. BRASS KNUCKLES is een initiatief van Subbalicious Music & Media en na een half jaar try-out onder de naam Subbalicious hebben we besloten er een vaste maandelijkse avond van te maken met daarbij een eigen identiteit. Eerdere optredens waren er o.a. van:

Met reeds een release op het welbekende label Rottun Recordings zijn zij hard op weg om ook naam te maken in de dubstep scene. Deze heren los zijn dj/producers Antistar en Kwanto uit Utrecht en hebben de krachten gebundeld onder de naam Sinister Souls. Zij zijn tevens onderdeel van het Utrechtse collectief Utreg Massive. Ook dit duo is hard op weg; met een constante productie flow van knetterharde basslines en originele samples mag je verwachten dat ze met hun 16bit 2.0 of misschien beter gezegd 32bit stijl ongetwijffeld snel gaan releasen. Lockdown is known mainly for their underground parties in Amsterdam, and this year they continue things with a party on a boat. Like their previous parties, the exact location is a secret, but its gonna be on a boat that docks in the vicinity of Centraal Station. The lineup is : Cinnaman, Aardvarck, Akkachar, & Plus – with sound supplied by the mighty King Shiloh Soundsystem. I’d suggest getting your tickets early at RushHour on the Spuistraat, ’cause they’re gauranteed to sell out at some point. Don’t miss the boat (literally), be here, bring some booze, bring good vibes, bring shoes you don’t mind destroying, and get down. See ya there.
